Celebrating Diversity and Supporting Local Schools
Celebrating Diversity and
Supporting Local Schools
KMERG and KAARG are partnering during National Reading Month to launch their second annual Multicultural Book Drive in collaboration with Lee & Low Books, a minority-owned independent book seller and the largest multicultural book publisher in the US. This book drive will raise money to donate a set of diverse books to disadvantaged elementary schools in the communities of six Kellogg Company offices and plants across the country!
We will be donating books to six elementary schools near the:
- Cary Plant (NC)
- Chicagoland Sales Office (IL)
- Huntersville Sales Office (NC)
- Jackson Plant (TN)
- Memphis Plant (TN)
- Lancaster Plant (PA)
Together with Lee & Low Books, KMERG and KAARG have curated a special list of diverse books for students in grades K-5, focusing on race, religion, culture, gender, and additional areas that make the United States and Kellogg Company so beautifully diverse.
Last year, we far exceeded our goal of $1,000 and raised a total of $2,600, which we were able to use to donate a set of books to two schools. Thank you to those who supported!
This year, our goal is to raise $6,000, which would allow one complete set of the Diversity Book Collection to six schools near Kellogg locations. The total cost of each curated set is $1,000, so our goal is to:
RAISE $6,000 between March 1st & March 31st
